04 / TEST YOUR INSTINCTS
What would you do?
No correct answer. Just consequences. Pick the response you'd actually make in committee and see what kind of room you create.
Scenario game
Scenario 01
Your bloc has a majority, but your strongest ally wants a clause you know will split the room.
The chair has given you eight minutes before the draft resolution closes. Everyone is watching.
You chose the room over the moment.
Your move creates more space for coalition-building. In a live committee, that can be more valuable than winning a single clause.
Scenario 02
The crisis update just landed and your strongest ally was named in it.
The room is watching you. Whatever you say next sets the tone for the rest of the session.
The room noticed.
How you handle pressure becomes part of the room's memory. That's the part of MUN that sticks.
Scenario 03
You have the votes. You don't have the room.
Your draft resolution would pass. But half the committee would leave feeling like they weren't heard.
You built the room.
Winning the vote isn't the same as winning the room. The best delegates know the difference.
Final
You'd build a room that moves.
Every committee is a different room, but the ones that matter are the ones where people leave remembering an argument.
The point isn't to sound like a diplomat. The point is to make the room move.
